CM inaugurates various development works in Nainital
Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated 12 development works costing Rs 26.69 crore and unveiling the foundation stones for 33 developmental works costing Rs 61.18 crore in the Nainital Vidhan Sabha constituency here on Sunday.
The chief minister inaugurated Jansantushti portal for redressal of public grievances and Tripti portal for payment to Asha workers. He also inaugurated other portals for specific tasks on the occasion. Addressing the gathering he appreciated the work done by district magistrate Savin Bansal in the sphere of public health, girl child education/welfare and education. Stating that one cannot imagine Uttarakhand without Nainital and Mussoorie, he recalled that Nainital was the nation’s first commissionerate and has a history of about 200 years. He said that the state government is making all possible effort to preserve this city and the Naini lake. The Government of India is working at a swift pace on the Jamrani dam project which will facilitate drinking water and irrigation water to Nainital and the densely populated cities of Kumaon region. Work is also underway to resettle the people affected by this project in the Terai region. The government is also planning to work on the Kosi dam project, which will further address the drinking water demand effectively.
The chief minister said that telemedicine is a very suitable facility for those living in remote mountainous areas. To facilitate this, the work of laying a fibre-optics network in the state is being undertaken. Completion of this task will enhance the connectivity across the state and give a new direction to the provision of telemedicine facility.
The CM also announced that a media centre with all necessary facilities will be built at Haldwani for the publicity of government schemes and use of journalists. He also announced ambulances for Bhawali, Bhimtal, Maldhanchaur, Motahaldu and Ramgarh, rejuvenation and beautification of Sukhatal lake.
