Chief Minister hails rising women number in SSB passing-out parade

CM appreciates  the rising participation of the women in parades

While participating as the chief guest at the passing out parade of 11th Basic Recruitment Training Course at Central Training Centre of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) at Srinagar in Pauri district on Saturday, the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat appreciated the rising participation of the women in such parades. He termed the increasing number of women joining the armed forces as a positive development for the nation. “This is how the spirit of the Beti Bachao –Beti Padho programme is being realized in the armed forces of the country,” he said. Referring to the men and women from Jammu and Kashmir taking specialized training here before they return to combat terror, Chief Minister said that they have come from Srinagar of J&K to Srinagar of Garhwal and the gap between the two Srinagar is being bridged by them. While Srinagar is the capital of J&K, Srinagar, Garhwal was also earlier a capital of a princely State, he added. Congratulating the family members of the trainees, the Chief Minister said that they must be saluted for pledging their children to the service of the country. “The country is strong since the armed forces are strong. It is heartening to see that the youth of the border areas are going back after taking training. This would definitely make our borders stronger,” he said. He lauded the SSB for keeping vigil on the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan borders. “This aside, SSB is also undertaking other responsibilities with dedication and commitment.
