CM flags off first batch of Kailash-Manasarovar pilgrims

The chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off the first group of 45 pilgrims on the sacred journey to Kailash-Manasarovar at Tanakpur in Champawat district on Saturday. The pilgrims have come from across the country. Welcoming them, Dhami said that one could embark on this pilgrimage by sheer divine grace. “It is more than rituals; it is a means of soul awakening,” he said. Speaking of the spiritual significance of Uttarakhand, he said that every nook and corner of this land is the abode of Lord Shiva.
Reassuring the pilgrims, the CM said that his government has made all possible arrangements, including health, accommodation, food and security among others, to ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
A number of officials from the army, ITBP and SSB along with people’s representatives were present on the occasion.
