CM directs steps for crowd management in Kumbh Mela
Crowd management will be a challenge during the 2021 Kumbh Mela in Haridwar. Necessary steps should be taken to ensure effective crowd management and other required measures, said the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. He said this while chairing a meeting along with ministers and members of the religious fraternity here on Thursday.
Rawat said that the cooperation of the religious fraternity and Akhada Parishad will be required in crowd management. To prevent any inconvenience to the devotees, well planned route chart and parking places should be ensured. He requested the religious fraternity to finalise the Shahi Snan dates on time so that necessary arrangements can be made accordingly. He also directed the officials concerned to mark the encroachments in the Kumbh Mela area.
The Haridwar Kumbh Mela 2021 will be the biggest religious and spiritual fair in the world. Crores of people from around the world will arrive here to attend it. The CM said that arrangements for the Kumbh Mela should be such that they set an example for future events. He directed that construction of all roads and bridges leading to Haridwar should be expedited. Work should be undertaken in two or three shifts for this purpose.
Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik said that a grand and divine Kumbh Mela will be organised with the cooperation of the religious fraternity. All effort will be undertaken to provide the basic facilities to the religious fraternity. All possible steps will also be taken to provide better facilities for devotees from India and abroad, he said.
Akhil Bharatiya Akhada Parishad (ABAP) chief Mahant Narendra Giri assured full cooperation to the state government for a peaceful Kumbh Mela. The dates of Shahi Snan will be announced soon. He also talked about removal of encroachment from the Kumbh Mela area, construction of internal roads, sanitation, drinking water, provision of land and money for construction to the Akhadas. The ABAP general secretary Mahant Hari Giri stressed on the need for removal of encroachment from Bairagi camp. Kumbh Mela inspector general Sanjay Gunjyal and additional Kumbh Mela officer Lalit Narayan Mishra gave presentations regarding preparations for the Kumbh Mela. Additional chief secretary Om Prakash, DG (Law and Order) Ashok Kumar, secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki, additional secretary Vinod Kumar Suman, Haridwar district magistrate Deependra Kumar Chaudhry, Haridwar senior superintendent of police Senthil Avoodai Krishnaraj S and Kumbh Mela SSP Janmejay Khanduri were also among those present in the meeting.
