CM Dhami meets Amit Shah & Rajnath Singh in New Delhi

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Union Home minister Amit Singh and Defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Tuesday.
In his meeting with Shah, CM requested for approval of a sum of Rs 63.60 crore for setting up a ‘cyber centre of excellence’ in Dehradun to meet the increasing challenges in the sector of cyber security. The centre will play a key role in the prevention of digital crimes, training, cyber forensics and development of modern resources. He requested that in view of the frequent natural disasters in the State and their detrimental effect on the power infrastructure, the assets of the power generation, transmission and distribution in the State should be brought within the ambit of the compensation under the NDRF and SDRF. The CM claimed that this measure will make the disaster management system of the State more effective. He also requested for a sum of Rs 150.16 crore for the extension proposal of the Sitarganj Central Jail.
The CM informed Shah that during the Global Investor Summit-2023, memorandum of understanding worth Rs 3.50 lakh crore were inked and the State is now planning to organise ‘ Uttarakhand Investment festival’ to celebrate the success of the summit. He requested the Union Home minister to attend the festival to be organised in Pantnagar- Rudrapur industrial area as the chief guest.
In his meeting with the Union Defence minister, CM Dhami requested that the Ranikhet and Lansdowne cantonment areas should be merged with the municipal bodies. He claimed that the merger will help in the overall development of tourism and public facilities in these areas. Dhami also requested that the State government should be granted permission to use the military helipads of Dharchula and Joshimath under regional connectivity service. The CM requested that the fee payable for the services of the Indian Air Force for disaster and relief work in the State should be waived off.
Dhami said that the maintenance and upkeep of the Tharali- Dewal-Mundoli-Vaan motor road from Gwaldam via Nandkesari should be done by the Public Works Department. He said that this road is the main route of the important Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra of the State. The Yatra is organized after every 12 years and is scheduled in the year 2026. This Yatra is a symbol of the religious and cultural faith of the state, the CM told the union Defence minister.
