CM Dhami, Maharaj & AAP’s Kothiyal file nominations

Among the candidates who filed their nomination for the ensuing Assembly elections, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami filed his nomination from Khatima constituency on Thursday. He expressed confidence that the people of Khatima will elect him for the third time and that the BJP will form the government once again. In Pauri district, cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj filed his nomination from Chaubattakhal, Congress candidate Naval Kishore filed his nomination from Pauri, Uttarakhand Raksha Morcha candidate Ramesh Chandra Singh, UKD candidate Anand Prasad Juyal and AAP’s Narendra Giri filed nominations from Lansdowne constituency. A total of 17 candidates from various parties and independent candidates filed their nomination from different constituencies in the district on Thursday. In Nainital district, BJP’s Sarita Arya filed her nomination from Nainital constituency.

Meanwhile, AAP’s chief ministerial candidate Ajay Kothiyal filed his nomination from Gangotri constituency in Uttarkashi district. He visited various temples before filing his nomination.  Talking to mediapersons after filing his nomination, he said that he liked how people welcomed him with garlands, offered him Pithain and blessed him to show him their support.  He stated, “I did not expect this at all. We were just counting and found out that people have offered ‘pithain’ of about Rs 1.11 lakh within such a short distance. It shows how much people love and support and definitely want to see a change in Gangotri and the state.”
