Classes IX to XII students open amid Covid protocol

Tuesday, 03 August 2021 | PNS | Dehradun

After a long break enforced by the Covid-19, the schools in Uttarakhand opened on Monday. In the first stage the schools for classes IX to XII opened on Monday. However the attendance in the schools was not very encouraging and wary parents refraining from sending their wards to the schools. As the majority of private schools are still adopting a wait and watch policy on the issue, they remained closed for the students. In the government schools the students were allowed entry after sanitisation of hands.

For the students of classes VI to VIII the schools would open from August 16 and for the students of classes I to V the online mode of studies would continue.

The education department has directed that the teachers and staff members should get themselves vaccinated and the activities such as prayers, Bal Sabha, sports and cultural programmes would remain suspended in the schools. The schools have been asked to nominate one teacher as a nodal officer for communicating with the health department officials and ensuring Covid appropriate behaviour in the school.
