The surge in sales has brought smiles to the faces of shopkeepers. Additionally, a crowd of people is also being observed at the pooja shops. On Wednesday, many people flocked to the markets to finalise their preparations for the festival, picking up items like clothing, artificial jewellery and pooja materials.

A shop owner Jitendra Arora said that sales of silk sarees have risen among women shopping for Karwa Chauth. He said that women are purchasing sarees suited to their age groups, with red and vibrant colours being particularly popular for the festival.
