Very heavy rain warning issued for 5 districts, heavy rain likely in 5 other districts

Inclement weather is likely in various parts of the State on Monday with the State meteorological centre issuing an orange warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts today. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Haridwar, Tehri, Chamoli, Udham Singh Nagar and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense to very intense spells are also likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of the State. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in Uttarkashi and Tehri districts and at most places in the remaining districts on Monday.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness partly to generally cloudy skies. Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Monday.

Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was experienced in various parts of the State on Sunday with 18.5 millimetres in Sahastradhara area of Dehradun, 13 millimetres in Chorgalia, 11 millimetres in Vikasnagar and 9.5 millimetres in Narendranagar. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 31.3 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.9 degrees Celsius and 27.3 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.6 degrees Celsius and 15.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.9 degrees Celsius and 19.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
