U’khand SHA gears up for Aysuhman Bhava service fortnight

The State Health Authority (SHA) of Uttarakhand has started gearing up for the success of the service fortnight being organised under the Ayushman Bhava Yojana. The authority has directed all the nodal officers and officers concerned deployed in all parts of the state to help and coordinate in organising health fairs in the health and wellness centres and making of ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) IDs during the fortnight. 

It is worth mentioning here that under the Ayushman Bhava Yojana, a service fortnight will be organised from September 17 to October 2. In the programme Ayushman cards and ABHA IDs will be made and health fairs will be organised in the health and wellness centres. Blood donation camps, sanitation campaigns, organ donation pledge and TB free society campaign will also be organised in the fortnight.

The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat said that the Ayushman Bhava programme is being organised under the overall guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in all parts of the country. He claimed that the programme will be the biggest such programme in the health sector. The minister said that the government is committed to provide  proper health facilities to the person standing on the last rung of the social ladder. He expressed confidence that the health services in the state will get strengthened by the organisation of blood donation camps and voluntary organ donation pledge during the fortnight.

The additional director of the SHA, Atul Joshi said that responsibilities have been assigned to the officers and employees for the service fortnight. He said that a campaign will be organised to make health cards for the people whose cards have not yet been made. 

The chief executive officer of the SHA, Anand Srivastava said that the entire set up of SHA has been directed to ensure better performance for the success of the service fortnight. He warned that laxity will not be tolerated at any level during the programme. In Uttarakhand Ayushman cards of 52.10 lakh people have been made so far while a total of 56.65 ABHA IDs have been made.
