There appears to be no respite from the heat in Uttarakhand in the immediate future. The State meteorological centre has issued an alert while forecasting the likelihood of heat wave conditions occurring at a few places in the mountains and at isolated places in the plains of the State on Tuesday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the State’s districts while strong surface gusty wind is likely to occur during the daytime at a few places on Tuesday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience mainly clear skies with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 41 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively on Tuesday.

While most cities in the plains are experiencing temperatures touching or crossing 40 degrees Celsius, places in the mountains which experience below freezing temperatures during the winters are experiencing maximum temperatures of 30 degrees Celsius.
