All private schools to connect with Vidya Samiksha Kendras: CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that all private schools of the State will be connected with the Vidya Samiksha Kendras (VSK).
He said that Uttarakhand has become the first state in the country to implement the Gujarat model of the VSK and about 16,000 schools of the State have been connected with this innovation. It will ensure that information about teachers, students and all educational activities related to these schools will be available to the government through a centralized system.
He was addressing the foundation stone laying ceremony of the hostel of Saraswati Vidya Mandir, Manduwala in Dehradun on Tuesday.
The CM said that extensive reforms have occurred in the education system in the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said Uttarakhand was the first in the country to implement the National Education Policy- 2020. The CM said that 141 PM Shri Vidyalayas and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose residential schools are being constructed in the State. Virtual classrooms have also started in 500 schools of 13 districts of the State. Dhami said that to ensure quality education, NCERT books have been made compulsory in all government schools.
He said that meritorious students of class VI to XII of government and private schools of State are being given scholarships. Similarly the meritorious students of class X and XII of every block are being sent on an India tour.
Dhami said that the State government has also taken a historic initiative to provide government jobs to players who win medals at the national level.
He said that the government has constructed stadiums and sports facilities in the State and scholarships are being given to talented players.
While congratulating all the students, the CM said that this hostel, besides providing residential facilities to the students, will play an important role in their all-round development. He also congratulated the students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir Manduwala for achieving 100 per cent result in the recently concluded board examinations.
All India executive board member of the Saraswati Vidhya Mandirs Suresh Soni, Rajya Sabha MP Naresh Bansal, MLA Sahdev Pundir and others attended the programme.
