As Corona warriors, Nurses the real protectors of humanity :CM
Giving gift on International Nurses’ Day to the nursing staff of the state, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has declared that their designations would now be similar to that of central government services. Instead of current designations of Sister and Matron, the nurses would now be called Nursing officers and Senior Nursing officers. In his message, the CM heaped praises on the nurses for their current role in the war against the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and said that they are real protectors of humanity as Corona warriors.
Meanwhile the day was celebrated in different hospitals of the state in a graceful manner. At Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) hospital, the nursing staff were presented with bouquets. Speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the GDMC, Dr Ashutosh Sayana said that the hospital is wagging a successful war on Covid-19 on the support given by the nurses. The Medical Superintendent (MS) of GDMC Dr K K Tamta, Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr N S Khatri, faculty members and nursing staff was present on the occasion.
At district hospital of Dehradun, ( Gandhi centenary eye hospital and Coronation hospital), the day was celebrated in a simple manner. Floral tributes were offered to the Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing. Rich tributes were paid by the CMS, Dr B C Ramola and president of state association of Nurses Meenakshi Jakhmola to the nurses who have lost their lives in the war against Covid-19.
