CBRI completes geotechnical survey at Tungnath

The Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) is expediting efforts for protection and renovation of the Tritiya Kedar- Tungnath situated at an altitude of 12,074 feet in the Rudraprayag district.
The BKTC chairman Hemant Dwivedi informed that a team of technical experts from the Central Building Research Institute (CBRI), Roorkee, completed a geotechnical survey at Tungnath on Saturday.
A detailed project report will be prepared after analysing the survey report and conservation work will be undertaken as per the DPR. The CBRI is preparing a DPR on construction and developmental activities at Tungnath at the request of BKTC.
Earlier, experts from the Archaeological Survey of India, Geological Survey of India and CBRI had also toured the Tungnath area in the past.
