Cath lab to come up in GDMC hospital

 The principal of Government Doon Medical College (GDMC), Dr Ashutosh Sayana has said that a Cath lab for the treatment of patients of heart ailments would soon come up in the GDMC hospital. He said that a proposal in this regard has been sent to the state administration and it has received a positive response there. Dr Sayana said this during a programme organised by Uttaranchal Press club at the new OPD Block of GDMC hospital on Tuesday. In the programme the new directory of the club was distributed.
The principal further informed that a sports medicine department would also be set up in the hospital which would treat the sports persons and look after their fitness aspect also. He said the head of department (HoD) of PMR department, Dr Abhishek Chaudhary has met senior officers in Delhi in this regard. Dr Sayana informed that the new Operation Theatre (OT) and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the medical college hospital would start on August 13, 14 and a national Surgery Conference would be organised on these days in the hospital. He said that the old building of the female hospital would be dismantled and a 500 bed hospital for newborn and mothers would come up in its place. Dr Sayana added that 50 flats for PG students would be constructed. The president of the press club Jitendra Anthwal, the Medical Superintendent (MS) of GDMC Hospital Dr KC Pant and deputy MS Dr NS Khatri and others were present on the occasion.
