The contract of GVK- EMRI Company to operate 108 emergency ambulance service is ending on April 30 as the state government had recently handed over the task of operating the 108 ambulance service to Community Action and Motivation Programme (CAMP).
As the term of its contract is ending on April 30, the GVK- EMRI management has issued letters to the all its employees in which it is mentioned that April 30 would be their last day in service.
The new operator CAMP is willing to appoint experienced staff of the GVK- EMRI but is not ready to pay them the salary they were receiving. Most of these workers are working from last seven to eight years in the ambulance service and are getting salaries in the range of Rs 15000 to 18000 per month.
The new company is said to have offered only Rs 10000 per month to these workers. In such a scenario the field workers of the service have formed an association and are demanding that they should be retained on the old salary. Their demand has been supported by Congress party and many trade unions.Saturday, 27 April 2019 | PNS | Dehradun
