Wednesday, 18 April 2018 | PNS | Dehradun– A BSF head constable Surendra Singh who had allegedly molested a woman constable was arrested and sent to Suddhowala Jail on Tuesday. It is learnt that the incident happened when the woman constable came to Dehradun from West Bengal on Sunday to attend the training on mountaineering training at Doiwala. A case under sections 354/506 of IPC was registered against the accused in Rajpur police station on the basis of the complaint lodged. The accused was sent to Suddhowala jail after being produced in the court, said a Rajpur police station officer. Sources said that as per the complaint, the head constable insisted on the complainant to stay the night with him in a hotel on Sunday. She shouted for help and later informed the police through emergency number 100, sources further said, adding that the police rushed to the hotel upon being informed. However, by the time the police reached the head constable escaped. Later, he was arrested from Mussoorie Diversion Road around noon on Monday. It is further learnt that the woman constable and the head constable are natives of Bhangarkhat, Chakrata and both are working in the same unit of BSF.
