The Uttarakhand government is taking steps to stop the private educational institutions from acting arbitrarily. If the steps are implemented the state government will have a direct say in the functioning of the private educational institutions. Notably, a delegation of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal had served a memorandum to the director general education, Uttarakhand Banshidhar Tiwari on this matter. Following which it was suggested that a government representative of the director general of education would be there in the managing committees of all the schools recognized by ICSE, CBSE and Bharatiya Shiksha Board. These representatives will keep a watch on the matters like fee hike, stationary and uniforms and apprise the department of any violation of the rules by the institutions. The education department officers said that it would be easier for the government to keep watch on the entire realm of education through the presence of the government representative in the schools’ managing committees.
