CEO of microblogging site Twitter Elon Musk has removed legacy verified blue ticks from the accounts of many eminent persons of the country for having failed to pay the monthly fees to keep them. Among those from whose accounts the blue ticks have been removed included the chief minister, the former chief ministers and leader of the opposition of Uttarakhand. The same has happened to the Twitter accounts of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak and BSP president Mayawati among others. Besides, the accounts of many of high -profile Twitter users like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli have faced the same.
