Blood donation camp held to mark CM’s b’day as Seva Diwas

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat exhorted the youth to donate blood and raise awareness about blood donation. He said this while visiting a blood donation camp organized to mark his birthday on Thursday. The chief minister presented gifts to specially-abled children and also attended Sundarkand recitation at the Bharatiya Janata Party state office on the occasion. Uttarakhand governor Baby Rani Maurya and various public representatives greeted him on the occasion.

Speaking at the blood donation camp, Rawat said that a unit of blood donated can save the life of four persons. There was confusion in the minds of people earlier that donating blood may cause weakness or other problems but today that confusion has been cleared. Expressing happiness at the increasing number of people donating blood, he said that donors who consistently donate blood every year are encouraging others to donate blood. He said that blood donation and organ donation are sacred acts, which give immense spiritual happiness and satisfaction. It should be mentioned here that the blood donation camp was held to mark the chief minister’s birthday as Seva Diwas. He also presented gifts to differently abled children on the occasion.
