BJP welcome’s PM’s praise for winter tourism in State

The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi appreciating winter tourism in Uttarakhand during his Mann Ki Baat programme on Sunday. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt that this address was special for Uttarakhand. The PM appreciating efforts being made for winter tourism in Uttarakhand will encourage the people, he said. “The PM deserves credit for this as he is an undeclared brand ambassador of the State and his encouragement has helped Uttarakhand perform well in medical and winter tourism. Lakhs of people from the plains are visiting the mountains, religious and tourist spots to escape from the fog and cold, and also for health benefits. The State is also progressing on the wedding destination concept shown by the PM,” Bhatt said. He added that the PM’s statements on winter tourism and wedding destinations are encouraging for the people of the State. The State’s first high altitude ultra run marathon was held recently at Adi Kailash in Pithoragarh district. More than 750 athletes from 18 States had participated in this event, which was a major development in the sphere of sports and winter tourism, he added.
The BJP State president further said that the Winter Games are to be held in Uttarakhand in the near future with players and adventure lovers from across the nation looking forward to the event. Along with such events, the government’s focus on improving connectivity and infrastructure is also boosting winter tourism, he said.
