The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the party welcomes the government’s Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana which is an integrated family database programme that will ensure eligible families receive their rightful benefits. He added that those linking the scheme to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls are supporters of demographic change conspiracies. Speaking at the party headquarters on Thursday, Bhatt said that the State government, with central support, runs several welfare schemes to help poor and needy families. He said that the Devbhoomi Parivar Yojana will centralise information about beneficiaries, allowing departments to track benefits and take additional measures where needed. The scheme will maintain complete records of eligible families so the government can act where necessary. Bhatt said that the scheme will provide rightful benefits to poor families and prevent ineligible individuals from accessing government schemes. He criticised those spreading confusion around the scheme, saying their interests are tied to vote bank politics. He added that the government will implement the scheme successfully, similar to Uniform Civil Code, anti-riot measures, anti-conversion rules and other regulations.
