The Bharatiya Janata Party said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam paper leak and the decision to conduct a re-examination aim to address students’ concerns and ensure transparency.
The party appealed to all sides to maintain patience, adding that those who have lost public credibility are now trying to mislead youth on issues concerning their future.
The BJP State president and Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the government, under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, remains committed to protecting the interests of young aspirants. Responding to media queries, Bhatt said that the public has complete trust in the government’s efforts, stating that in the past four years, more jobs were given than by all previous governments combined without any instance of paper leaks or irregularities.
He said that this record was made possible through the strict anti-cheating law enacted by the Dhami government and the action taken against those involved in cheating and paper leaks during earlier regimes. Bhatt added that hundreds of accused linked to the cheating network were arrested and that the government succeeded in restoring confidence in recruitment processes.
Referring to the recent incident in the UKSSSC graduate-level examination, Bhatt said that even a single case of malpractice created doubts among some students. To clear all suspicion, the government ordered both an Special Investigation Team (SIT) and a CBI probe and cancelled the exam. He said that these steps were taken solely to maintain fairness, transparency and credibility in the recruitment process.
Bhatt urged everyone to remain patient and wait for the outcome of the investigation. Criticising Congress leaders, he said that the opposition’s credibility among the public has declined and they now seek to undermine institutional trust. He said that examination malpractice flourished under previous Congress governments which failed to act on multiple paper leak cases.
According to Bhatt, the current government’s consistent efforts have built a sense of confidence among the youth regarding recruitment processes. He said that the opposition’s attempts to create unrest among students will not succeed as people and young aspirants continue to trust the CM and his government’s intentions.
