Complainant fails to turn up before police

The girl who sparked a fierce row by her sexual harassment charges leveled against the state BJP general secretary Sanjay Kumar, who was forced to quit the post in its aftermath,  failed to turn up before the police team investigating the case on Thursday. The girl had earlier told the police that she would submit her statement on Thursday. The superintendent of police (SP) Rural, Dehradun Sarita Dobhal waited for the complainant at her office throughout the day but she didn’t turn up. It is learned that she has told the police on the phone that she would come before it soon with her advocate to record her statement. The girl, a BJP worker, who had worked in the state unit of the party had kicked up a storm recently when she claimed that Sanjay Kumar had tried to sexually harass her. She also claimed that she was in possession of many audio recordings in which the BJP leader was heard making lewd offers to her.
