BIS raises awareness on standards & quality in Gopeshwar

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Dehradun branch conducted a Manak Chaupal at Gopeshwar in Chamoli district. The BIS Dehradun director Saurabh Tiwari informed the villagers about the importance of standards.
Tiwari explained various core functions of BIS, including identification of the ISI mark and its authenticity, hallmarking systems, the BIS certification process, consumer grievance redressal mechanisms and the use of the BIS CARE mobile application. Aspects like consumer protection, necessity of health and durability were also discussed on the occasion.
Gopeshwar councillor Deepak Bhatt and Mahila Mangal Dal head Chandrakala Semwal appreciated the initiative of the BIS while also appealing to the locals to adopt a lifestyle which accords importance to quality. A number of women and youths were among those who attended the event.
