In latest incident of bear attack, a bear ripped off the roof of a cowshed and killed three cows in Thaig village under Jyotirmath development block late Monday night. The villagers said they are scared. “We have seen many cattle killed in bear attacks in the village. The villagers stay away from fields after dark,” said the village head, Meera Devi.
The forest range officer of the Nanda Devi National Park, Gaurav Negi said that appropriate amount of compensation had been given to the affected family.
