BDGS Rishikesh boys lift Col Shashi memorial cricket trophy

The team of the Brain Discovery Global School (BDGS) Rishikesh lifted Col Shashi memorial cricket Tournament ( U- 14) here on Saturday. In the final match of the tournament, affiliated to the Schools Cricket Federation of India, the BDGS boys overcame a spirited challenge from the team of Oak Groves School ( OGS), Mussoorie.

In the finals, the BDGS team won the toss and elected to field first. The opening pair of OGS, Harshit and Ritesh contributed 45 runs in 5.2 over. Ritesh scored scintillating 60 runs in 34 balls. The team of OGS scored 176 runs in 19.5 overs.

 In reply,   BDGS openers scored a quick 42 runs for opening wickets in six overs. Poorvash  top scored with 43 runs.  In a nail biting finish the BDGS was able to make 176 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs. As the match was on tie, it extended to Super Over. In the Super Over the BDGS made 18 runs on the loss of one wicket. In response the OGS boys could make only three runs and lost  the close match.

Poorvash of BDGS who made 386 runs in 5 matches during the tournament was adjusted Man of the series. Aryan was declared as the best bowler of the tournament and Kartik was adjusted as the best wicket keeper. Tamish of The Doon School was declared as the most promising player of the tournament.
