Govt varsities of U’khand to initiate recruitment process on vacant posts

The minister of state for higher education and cooperatives, Dhan Singh Rawat has warned that the universities failing to initiate the process of recruitment for vacant posts within one month could lose these posts. He said this while undertaking a meeting of the officials of higher education and universities on Friday. In the meeting he directed the Vice Chancellors (VC) to start the process of recruitment to fill the vacant teaching and non teaching posts within one month. He said that the government has set up a high level committee comprising of VCs, director higher education, advisor higher education and in charge higher education to implement the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) system in state universities and colleges. This committee would submit its report in two month after deliberating on all aspects. The minister informed that the government of India has approved RUSA phase III after success of RUSA phase II in the state. Rawat directed that the college Principals and nodal officers should convene a meeting with the officials of higher education department for preparing an outline of the different works under the RUSA Phase III project and its successful implementation.

The meeting was attended by the secretary higher education Vinod Prasad Raturi, Vice Chancellor Sridev Suman University P P Dhyani, VC Kumaon University N K Joshi, VC Soban Singh Jeena N S Bhandari, VC Doon University Surekha Dangwal, Director Higher education Kumum Rautela, Additional Secretary M M Semwal and others.
