Bad weather forces CM’s chopper to land at Pantnagar

Wednesday, 11 May | PNS | Dehradun

Inclement weather conditions forced the pilot of the helicopter carrying the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and his family to make an unscheduled halt at the Pantnagar airport on Tuesday. The CM who had filed his nomination papers for the Champawat Assembly by-poll on Monday was returning to Dehradun on Tuesday morning along with his wife. His helicopter took off for Dehradun from Khatima on Tuesday morning. However, strong winds and rains forced the pilot of the helicopter ferrying the CM to make a detour from Ramnagar to the Pantnagar airport. At the airport the CM and his family waited for almost two hours at the airport’s annexe. In the afternoon when the weather condition became favourable the CM resumed his journey and safely landed in Dehradun. One of the personal staff members of CM Dhami said that there was no emergency landing of the helicopter. He said that only an unscheduled halt was made at Pantnagar due to bad weather.
