Claims that it enhances immunity in children
The Uttarakhand Ayurveda University has suggested that its ‘Swarnprash’ should be given to the children to increase their immunity. Mayank Srivastava of the university has claimed that he has studied the effect of Swarnprash on the growth, development and immunity of the children and has sent a proposal to the state government through the university.
The secretary Ayush, Dilip Jawalkar confirmed that he has received the proposal and said that it is being examined. Srivastava has made a presentation on the effect of the Swarnprash on the immunity of children before the governor of Uttarakhand, Baby Rani Maurya and Ayush Minister Harak Singh Rawat. He said that special emphasis laid on the overall health and its protection in children. Srivastava said that Swarnprash is mentioned in Ayurveda and in India it is being used from ancient times in India as immunity enhancer. He said that the Uttarakhand Ayurveda University has confirmed the benefits of Swarnprash and it has organised camps from time to time to administer it to the children. Srivastava claimed that in the prevailing conditions the use of Swarnprash can be useful in helping in overall development of children and in enhancing their immunity. He added that apart from sending a proposal to the state government, the Ayurveda University has sent the proposal to the National Ayurveda Vidyapeeth which gives technical assistance and suggestion to the Ayush ministry.
