Automated parking trials near completion at three locations in Doon

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

Trials of three automated parking facilities in Dehradun are in their final phase and will be inaugurated soon by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, according to district magistrate Savin Bansal. He said that these smart parking structures are being developed under the direction of Dhami as part of the city’s ongoing modernisation efforts.

The automated parking systems are located near Tibetan Market, Parade Ground and within the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya (Coronation) Hospital premises. Bansal said that the goal is to ease vehicle congestion and provide organised and secure parking options for the public. Bansal said that the CM will inaugurate the facilities shortly after successful trial runs. He informed that the district administration has also undertaken improvements at the Coronation hospital, integrating upgraded physical infrastructure with healthcare services.

Bansal said that as traffic volume increases in the city, the introduction of structured parking facilities is seen as a necessary step. These automated systems are designed to make efficient use of limited space and help manage urban vehicle parking in a more effective way. The project is being executed on a priority basis and the officials concerned are conducting final checks to ensure readiness for public use, he added.
