The automated parking facility in Deen Dayal Upadhyay (Coronation) district hospital has been completed and officially handed over to the district hospital on Wednesday. It can accommodate 18 vehicles and doctors and nurses have started using the system. This initiative is part of the district administration’s effort to improve urban traffic flow and parking availability in Dehradun.
The Dehradun district magistrate Savin Bansal said that the new parking system at the district hospital has led to better allocation of space with staff vehicles now occupying the automated unit. This has freed up space for patients and their attendants in the ground level parking area. He informed that the administration has also completed two other automated parking projects at Tibetan Market and Parade Ground which will soon be inaugurated and opened to the public. He informed that the automated parking facilities at Parade Ground and Tibetan Market can accommodate 96 vehicles and 132 vehicles respectively. These parking units have been designed for compact areas and can be relocated if needed.
The DM said that two trained technical operators have been assigned to manage the automated systems who will also get insurance coverage through the district plan. According to him, these parking facilities are steps toward improving traffic management and expanding parking solutions across Dehradun.
