Authorities recover 9 quintals of spurious paneer

As part of the efforts to check supply of substandard food items, the authorities seized about nine quintals of paneer in Dehradun early on Sunday morning. The district food safety officer PC Joshi, senior food safety officers Yogendra Pandey, Ramesh Singh and Sanjay Tiwari along with vigilance team members have acted against suspicious paneer suppliers in different parts of Dehradun.

A vehicle from Saharanpur in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh which was caught on April 29 was caught once again on Sunday in the Nehru Colony area with four quintals of paneer. Following this about five quintals of paneer was recovered from the car of a supplier in Lakkhibagh area. According to the officials, the paneer was intended to be supplied for marriages, to hotels and restaurants.
