
Assembly session: DM orders application of Section 144
Taking cognisance of the upcoming Vidhan Sabha session, Dehradun district magistrate C Ravishankar has passed the orders to apply section 144 with immediate effect.
In addition to that he said, for keeping the peaceful situation of the valley intact all the communities and groups conducting protest, strike, hunger strike and other activities have been prohibited in the 300 metres radius around the Vidhan Sabha premises during the assembly session.
No person will be allowed to take any combustible materials, sticks, hockey sticks, any sharp blades that can be used as weapons and fireworks or anything that can be used to create violence. No person will be allowed to gather bricks and stones as well during this time period.
For the time being, use of loudspeakers and sloganeering, writing slogans on government buildings, delivering speeches which can instigate communal violence and using any publicity material which can cause disturbance is strictly prohibited.
In the 300 metres area, at all junctions and public places, five or more than five people cannot congregate. Any protest march shall not be conducted without taking prior permission from the administration. During the same duration all vehicles including buses, tractor trolleys, all types of four wheelers and two wheelers will be strictly prohibited from gathering together in the shape of any protest march. The same orders will continue to apply till the end of this session. In case of any disruption or any activity done in disregard of the above decisions, actions will be taken under the section 188.Attachments area.
