Arya writes to CS seeking foundation laying of sports university by Aug 29

Sports minister Rekha Arya has written a letter to the chief secretary to ensure the foundation stone for the proposed sports university is laid by August 29. Arya stated that the state government is determined to lay the foundation stone of the State’s first sports university on National Sports Day, which falls on August 29.
Elabortung on this, Arya said that the establishment of the first sports university in the State is one of the key announcements made by the chief minister and the governor has already approved the bill following amendments. The university will be located in the Gaulapar Sports Complex in Haldwani. However, the Forest department has raised some objections regarding this proposal, she said.
Arya further said that to address these concerns, she has written a letter to the CS and urged him to organise a meeting with State and Central officials of the Forest department to resolve these issues as soon as possible. She emphasised that completing all necessary formalities before National Sports Day should be a top priority.
Additionally, the minister said that instructions have also been issued in the letter for immediate action regarding the allocation of out-of-turn government jobs to players who won medals in the 38th National Games, as well as to distribute cash prizes to the medal winners.
