Arya releases Rs 3.23 crore to beneficiaries under MVY

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya released over Rs 3.23 crore to beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Vatsalya Yojana (MVY) on Saturday. Regarding this,

Arya said that this scheme provides monthly assistance of Rs 3,000 to orphaned children who lost their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic since 2020. She said that funds have already been allocated for the period till March 2025.

In April alone, a total of Rs 1.62 crore was distributed to 5,415 beneficiaries, while for May, an average of Rs 1.61 crore was released for 5,358 beneficiaries. Arya added that beneficiaries will exit the scheme upon turning 21 years old, getting married (in the case of girls) or securing employment.
