Arrange ration kits for returning migrants, penalise anyone not wearing mask in public: CM
To ensure that Uttarakhandis returning to the state do not face any problems regarding availability of food grains, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the officials concerned to arrange for ration kits for all the migrants returning to the state. He has also directed that wearing of masks be made mandatory for all people in the state.
Rawat said that the state government is arranging food grains for all those in need. Complete arrangements for food grains have been made in the state, he added. Rawat said that instructions have also been issued for making the wearing of masks mandatory for all people in the state. Stating that this is in the interests of all, he said that wearing of masks will considerably help in controlling the spread of the contagion. He said that provision be made to imposing monetary penalty on any person found not wearing a mask. On Friday, a delegation of the Bharatiya Janata Party office bearers met the CM. He listened to the suggestions they had for providing relief to the general public and migrants returning to the state amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Stating that the government is making all possible efforts, Rawat said that the government is receiving the support of all in these efforts.
Meanwhile, on the directions of the CM, a work plan has been prepared for arranging ration for the migrants returning to Uttarakhand. Those who have National Food Security scheme card of any state will be provided benefit akin to ‘white’ and ‘pink’ card under the one nation-one ration card scheme. Those who have no such card will be provided ration under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojana. They will receive five kilogramme rice and one kilogramme lentils per unit free of cost. The district magistrates and district supply officers have been directed to compile data of migrants who have returned and their card details.
