One more accused person was arrested by the police on Saturday for allegedly attempting to falsely implicate the head of All World Gayatri Parivar, Pranav Pandya in a false rape case. The police arrested Tripura resident Sunita Sharma from Nainital. The court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Sharma.

On the orders of the court, the police have stepped up action against those who allegedly tried to implicate Pandya in the false rape case. A special team of the police raided Nainital and arrested the accused woman.  It is being stated that Sunita Sharma had hatched the conspiracy to implicate Pandya and his wife. It is pertinent to mention here that in this case, the police have already arrested Hargovind and Toshan Sahu, apart from the main accused Manmohan. Two days ago, the police had arrested Chandrakala Sahu, the woman who had filed a case against the Gayatri Parivar chief from Dehradun.

In May 2021, a woman from Chhattisgarh had filed a case against Pandya and his wife Shail Bala at Vivek Vihar police station in Delhi. The complainant had alleged that Pandya had raped her during her stay in Shantikunj in 2010 and that Shail Bala had threatened her and told her to remain silent.

When the FIR was transferred to Haridwar, the police investigated the matter, the allegations against Pandya turned out to be false and the police also submitted its final report. After this the court again ordered the investigation into this matter.

Haridwar city Kotwali in-charge Rakendra Kathait said that the police had secured non-bailable warrants from the court for the arrest of the accused. Others accused in the case have been arrested in the past and the accused arrested on Saturday will be presented in the court, he added.
