Almora Urban Co-operative Bank opens its 64th branch in Dharchula

Almora Urban Co-operative Bank has opened its 64th branch at Dharchula, Tehsil Road, in Pithoragarh district on Tuesday. The bank officials said that it is fully equipped with NEFT, CBS, RTGS and IMPS facilities.
Inaugurating the new branch, the chairman of the bank, Mahesh Chandra Joshi mentioned the progress of the bank’s journey. “Aside from providing its customers with all modern banking facilities, the bank is serving the people at large through social service,” he added.
Addressing the gathering, the general manager of the bank, Bhupal Singh Mehta said that his bank is set to open another branch in the financial year 2025-26. He further informed that the bank has more than 57411 shareholders and the number of account holders is approximately 413784. “At present, the total business of the bank is over Rs 5737 crore and the bank’s current loan business runs into Rs 2075 crore,” he said, adding that more than 70 per cent of the loans have been disbursed in the region.
