Ajay seeks BKTC probe into allegations against him & other irregularities

The previous chairman of Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) Ajendra Ajay has requested the current chairman Hemant Dwivedi to get allegations about irregularities by Ajay during his tenure investigated properly. He has also requested him to ensure a probe into various alleged irregularities in the functioning of some committee officials.

Recently, Congress leader and former BKTC chairman Ganesh Godiyal had accused Ajay of facilitating his own brother’s appointment in the committee in addition to providing him increments in violation of the rules. Responding to this, Dwivedi had said that the matter will be probed if any substance is found in the allegations. Talking to the media on Thursday, Ajay requested that a committee be formed without delay to check the allegations levelled on him.

He further said that he appreciates the dedication and will of Dwivedi to probe into such allegations and said the BD Singh was appointed as the BKTC chief executive officer in 2010-11 and removed from the post during his (Ajay’s) tenure as the committee’s chief. However, the said official is still attached to the BKTC after retirement. Ajay further said that the BKTC chairman should get inquiries conducted into various alleged irregularities in the committee. He alleged, “During my term and even after that I have been regularly raising issues including alleged irregularities. Due to this, some persons have ganged up against me and are levelling allegations on me. The BKTC chairman should get all the allegations investigated,” he added.

It is pertinent to mention here that while Godiyal has been levelling allegations against Dwivedi and Ajay- both BJP leaders- for some days now with Ajay putting the ball in Dwivedi’s court for now.
