Noted paediatrician and neo-natal care expert, Dr Ashok Kumar Devradi took charge as the new principal of the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS), Jolly Grant on Thursday. Dr Devradi, a former head of department of paediatrics at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi was welcomed by the vice chancellor of the Himalayan University Vijay Dhasmana.
The new principal of the HIMS said that he would strive to move forward the mission of service of the institute. He said that education, research and innovation would be his focus areas.
A native of Chamoli district, Dr Devradi had done his MBBS in 1979, MD in 1983 and DNB in child diseases in the year 1985. He has held various responsibilities in many national and international institutes. He was an expert member in the Prime Minister’s empowered committee on prevention and treatment of Covid-19.
