Goyal conducts surprise inspection of control room after getting garbage related complaints

The Dehradun municipal commissioner Manuj Goyal conducted a surprise inspection of the Integrated Waste Management Control Room after getting several complaints regarding irregular door to door service in several areas of the city. He observed that certain vehicles did not go to areas as per their schedule and contacted the person concerned about the issue.

Besides this, he also observed the unavailability of some vehicles in some areas and asked the officials concerned to take immediate action accordingly. He also enquired about the quantity of garbage collected from the wards. Goyal further directed officials to install an additional big screen in the control room for effective monitoring of vehicles. He said that the corporation has been receiving complaints through various mediums like Citizen App and CM Helpline regarding garbage collecting vehicles not reaching several areas.

To ensure locals do not have to face inconvenience regarding garbage collection, the commissioner directed the officials concerned to replace damaged vehicles and deploy new vehicles as per the requirement. He also asked them to submit a coverage report of each garbage collecting vehicle daily. He asked to explain the reason why the sanitation workers do not get into a certain area on a particular day. He also directed the officials to prepare a deployment plan for the new vehicles within 15 days. He said that all officials must work to ensure every local gets door to door garbage collection service daily.
