The student admission process for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Doon University is set to end on May 31. The admission process at the university for these courses commenced on May 1, the university registrar Durgesh Dimri said.
He said that the notification for the admission process has been published on the university’s official website. Students can visit the site, select the admission notification options, fill out the application form and submit it online after making the necessary payments. Last year, the university received an average of 3,000 applications. This year, there are 910 seats available for undergraduate programmes and 650 for postgraduate programmes, he said. He further informed that after the admission process ends on May 31, the selection of students for the available seats will take place through an entrance examination.
The examination will take place on June 22 and will be conducted computer based. Additionally, he said that this year, the selection process for students entering the BSc programme will not rely on an entrance examination; instead, candidates must complete an online application form and will be admitted based on their JEE Mains rankings, ensuring that eligible students can enroll in the specified courses. Similarly, the selection of students for the BTech programme will also be based on JEE Mains rankings. Further, MBA applicants are required to fill out the online application form, with admissions determined by their CAT exam rankings. Dimri also said that the university has introduced an MA Hindu Studies programme, offering 20 available seats. Additionally, the university administration has submitted a proposal to the State administration for the hiring of faculty members for this new course, he stated. He emphasised that in the MA Hindu studies programme, students will be educated about the Ved, Hindu Dharma and others.
