ADG reviews security, crowd-parking management at Kedarnath

The additional director general of police (Crime and Law and Order) V Murugesan conducted an on-ground inspection of Kedarnath Dham on Tuesday to review preparations for security, crowd control and parking arrangements. He assessed the new police outpost building at Kedarnath and the residential arrangements for personnel. At the temple premises, he interacted with pilgrims to understand their travel experiences. He reviewed the token counter system for darshan and the line management process, instructing the deployment of additional police personnel to prioritise pilgrim safety. Murugesan also issued directions to maintain effective line and crowd management. After inspecting the temple area, the ADG travelled from Phata to Sonprayag to evaluate the route. He gathered details on parking and traffic from the duty inspector. He reviewed the arrangements at the Sitapur and Sonprayag parking zones and directed that vehicle entry, exit and parking be carried out in an organised manner. Murugesan also checked the queue system for the shuttle service from the Sonprayag/Sitapur parking area and monitored the shuttle operation between Sonprayag and Gaurikund. He directed the officials to carry out continuous and smooth shuttle services and issued specific directions to maintain orderly lines during peak morning hours when pilgrim numbers increase.
