Actions of civil servants build or mar government’s public image: CM
It is the character and actions of the government officers and employees which builds the government’s image in the public. Whereas good actions of the officers and employees build a good image, wrong actions damage the government’s image. All the civil servants should understand moral values and their responsibilities, said the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat. He was speaking after inaugurating the 14th basic training programme for civil servants at the RS Tolia Uttarakhand Academy of Administration in Nainital on Saturday.
Addressing the officials, the chief minister exhorted public servants to discharge their responsibilities with honesty and to maintain transparency in their work. It is their responsibility of take everyone in society along, comprehend their responsibility and establish coordination among members of society. Rawat expressed confidence that whatever duty they are assigned, the public servants will discharge the same with dedication, honesty, transparency and a positive attitude. Attempt should be made to behave cordially while listening patiently to public grievances and then resolving the same. On the occasion, the chief minister also learnt about the academy’s training programmes and gained information about the training being given to the officers selected for various state services. Interacting with the trainees, he also motivated them.
The chief minister also released four books in the Kumaoni language. Expressing concern at the alarming rate of languages dying out in the world, he stressed on the need for coming forward actively to ensure preservation of the regional languages and dialects. Earlier, Rawat also inaugurated the academy’s and Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam websites.
Kumaon commissioner Rajeev Rautela spoke on the history and activities of the academy, stating that high quality training is imparted in the academy to make civil servants capable of becoming good officers. Presently, basic training is being imparted to officers of 47 different services.
Local MLA Sanjeev Arya, additional secretary to the CM, Meharban Singh Bisht and Nainital district magistrate Savin Bansal were also among those present on the occasion.Attachments area.
