ACS appears before HC single bench

Apologizes for the delay in implementing court orders

Additional chief secretary Om Prakash appeared before the High Court single bench of justice Sharad Kumar Sharma. While informing the court that as per its earlier orders lecturers on the contract had been regularised, he also apologized for the delay in the same. As per the case details, Dehradun resident Rajendra Singh and five others had filed a contempt petition in the high court. They stated that in June 2018, the HC division bench had ordered that they are regularised on lecturer posts in the government polytechnic. However, the technical education secretary neither regularised them nor provided minimum pay grade to them. When the state filed a special leave petition against the HC order in the Supreme Court it was directed to file a review petition in the HC. However, as no order was passed in the review petition, Singh and others filed a contempt petition. The single bench had earlier issued a contempt notice to the senior bureaucrat.
