U’khand receives hefty revenue from mining sector in 2023-24

The Mining department has earned revenue of Rs 645.42 crore in the financial year 2023-24 which is Rs 173.42 crore more than the previous year. The Mining secretary Brijesh Kumar Sant said that the department has set a new record in revenue collection this year. He said that the department had collected revenue of Rs 472.25 crore in the financial year 2022-23.  The department collected Rs 645.42 crore in 2023-24 which is 40 per cent more than the previous year. Sant said that the revenue collection in the year 2023-24 was highest ever since the creation of the State and attributed the success to the officers and employees of the mining department. Sant said that the State government had incorporated massive changes in the policies and taken foresighted steps which have helped the department in collecting revenue which is almost equal to the target for the year.

 The mining department has taken a target of Rs 1,000 crore revenue in the current financial year. The mining secretary said that the department has prepared a work plan for the year 2024-24 and expressed confidence that the department will achieve the target.
