It is mandatory for owners of dogs to get a license for their dogs from the municipality in Bageshwar. However, many such persons have not yet done the needful. The municipality has asked dog owners to compulsorily register in the municipality and get licenses for the dogs, adding that failure to do so may result in fines.
Stray dogs along with pet dogs let out to roam cause problems to some citizens at various localities including Station Marg, Tehsil Marg, Pindari Marg and other places here.
The Bageshwar municipality chairman Suresh Khetwal said that dogs are being registered in the municipality for a small amount. An appeal is being made to all the dog owners to get dog licenses. The municipality will conduct a campaign against those who keep dogs without registration in the city and will collect fines, he added.
