Six police personnel of Uttarakhand police and four home guard personnel have been awarded with President’s Police Medals and President’s Home Guard Service Medal respectively on the occasion of 74th Republic Day, as announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday. The Additional Director General of Police, (Crime and Law and Order) V Murugesan has been awarded with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service. Besides this, the ministry has also announced the name of five police officials for President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service -Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Chief Minister Security Rakesh Chandra, , the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pauri, Shyam Dutt Nautiyal, Haridwar DSP Pankaj Gairola, Head Constable, 46th Corps PAC Rudrapur, Amir Chandra and Sub-Inspector Civil police Girwar Singh Rawat. The officials informed that two Deputy Commandant General, Home Guards and Civil Defence- Amitabh Srivastava and Rajeev Baloni who are currently deployed in Dehradun have been awarded with the President’s Home Guard Service Medal for distinguished service. Govind Singh Khati, a senior administrative officer in Home Guards, Almora district and Platoon Commander Rajpal Rana, who is currently deployed in Chamoli district have been awarded with the President’s Home Guard Service Medal for Meritorious Service. The Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Kumar has congratulated all the recipients on the occasion.
