The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) staged a protest against the alleged prevalent corruption in Uttarakhand on Tuesday by burning an effigy of the State government near Araghar Chowk in Dehradun. The State vice president of the party, RP Raturi said that a former chief minister himself stated recently that nothing gets done in the State without paying any commission which clearly tells the tale of prevalent corruption in every sector under the BJP led government. He said that BJP and the State government continue to talk about a zero corruption tolerance policy but the statements made by their own leaders prove it to be false. The AAP spokesman Ravindra Anand said that ministers and officials at senior positions in the BJP government have been clearly involved in such corrupt practices for years while they continue to make a false claim of adopting zero tolerance policy towards corruption in the State. The party leaders said that the government has also failed in developing the remote areas of the State besides providing a safe environment to women but despite all these irregularities, nothing concrete is being done to tackle these issues by the government.
